Lectures & Talks
Inhorgenta Munich 2023
During Inhorgenta Munich 2023, I talked about sustainable and circular strategies and actions for the jewelry and watch industries. Corporate commitments to climate and sustainability are growing in number and scope, becoming a core element for every business. Addressing environmental impacts and sustainable concerns is mandatory in the eyes of many stakeholders. But knowing which sustainable problems are most impactful and relevant can be hard to decide. This is why guidance and support on sustainability-related topics are necessary for businesses interested in thriving in the current market.

Upcycled jewelry webinar
The webinar began with reviewing the jewelry supply chain and the impacts created by jewelry production
Upcycled fashion is becoming more and more common strategy for many sustainable fashion brands but there are many differences in the supply chain between fashion & jewelry especially when talking about upcycling.
The next part was emphasizing the opportunities for change when focusing on upcycled jewelry and how they are translated into actions.
Sourcing is a big part of developing upcycled items and this can be built on materials from many channels while also increasing some challenges that were discussed.

RJC- SDG roadshow webinar
SDG 12- Responsible production and consumption
The webinar organized by RJC is part of a series of webinars for the jewellery and watch global supply chain to better understand and take measurable action towards Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Worldwide consumption and production — rest on the use of the natural environment and resources in a way that continues to have destructive impacts on the planet.
Sustainable consumption and production are about doing more and better with less. Addressing efficient management and use of natural resources that the jewellery industry is so dependant on. Tackling the issue of environmentally manage chemicals and all wastes throughout their life cycle. Reducing the release of waste to air, water and soil in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment. In general adopting a mindset shift of reducing waste through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse especially when talking about precious minerals.
